tutorial Backup VPS – most people say’s backup is very important, with backup you can save your time and money, don’t waste your time to starting from zero again. the below bash script will copy all files and directories on your linux VPS. I found it online after trying other linux backup options which either sucked or required me to be the server administrator i found at wht thread.
first we needed create file for bash script, you can easy backup your vps, in this case i use nano editor you can choose editor you like.

after then you can copy and paste this script to your backup.sh script backup vps

this is create automatic backup vps 1 compressed .tar file locally you can then download over SSH or FTP to your PC. For reference, I have a centos with OpenVZ VPS. You can specify only certain directories for backup by changing backup_files, or leaving it to “/” will backup everything.
